So I got home from work yesterday and took all my birds out of their cages to put on their stands and Kero didn’t look right. I walked around him and noticed that one of his wings was drooping down! OH NO!
So I called his avian vet, they said they could do an emergency appt and to bring him right in. So off in the car we went.
They X-rayed his wing and it’s okay. They said he must have strained or sprained it and wrapped it up and gave me pain meds for him for a few days. We go back in a week.
For anyone who thinks birds are inexpensive that trip cost me $260 but I would pay it anyday to help my little buddy.
All the techs were smitten with him and they did the X-ray just holding his wing out because he was so well behaved. They were happy that he was coming back so they could hold him again.
Here’s a pic of my little guy in the waiting room with his droopy wing. It actually looks MUCH better this morning and he’s holding it up against his body.

Of course he had the wing wrap off before we even made it home. They said that it was okay since it wasn’t broken and it should heal fine with rest and meds.
His cage looks so empty. They recommended taking everything out of his cage except a low perch and to lower his food/water, and to put a towel on the bottom. so I did all that. I wanted to call in today so I could stay home with him but I didn’t feel right doing that and he’ll probably get more rest without me there. Since when I’m home all he wants is, “OUT!” LOL
